Better Ballots Town Hall Survey Data

During April 2010 Better Ballots hosted four Town Hall meetings across Toronto. We introduced 14 options for municipal electoral reform aimed at making our local elections more inclusive, diverse, participatory and fair.

At the end of each session, we asked participants to fill out a survey ‘ballot’ to gauge their support for each option, and also to gauge their willingness to commit volunteer energy towards an advocacy campaign.

235 people cast ballots at our meetings. Of those, 50% (118 people) offered to volunteer for their favorite option(s). With 14 items to respond to, we collected over 3,100 votes. Most of those responses were positive, however the concentration of support varied between options. This document summarises the collected data, looking at the distribution of support.
